Two down, one to go!

Phoenix, AZ – September 1, 2020 –  As promised, the Apocalyptic Lovers have launched a second live music video today in a string of three videos. So far, Change of Frequency and Who the Hell Are You (released today) have been live versions of songs from their Michael Wagener mixed album Redemption Volume I.

The third release will be a brand new music video for the opening track on Redemption Volume I, Better Days. With all that is going on in the world, founding member and drummer, Dave Hope started receiving many messages regarding Better Days – a song penned by the band’s lead guitarist, Sean Magee.

Hope stated, “We have something very special planned for Better Days and more details will be available soon. The video will hands-down be our best to date and we hope to do a lot of good with it as well. The entertainment industry and everyone involved behind the scenes went down day one, and they will be the last to be back up and running. We know we are not the Stones or Def Leppard, but we hope to help everyone affected by the work stoppage in what little way our band can.

“The story for now is this live video for Who the Hell Are You that we pulled from our Whisky A Go Go gig in Hollywood opening for Dokken. Since almost all the concerts have either been canceled or rescheduled and most new albums put on hold, we thought it would be cool to re-share a very fun and magical night via this video.”

The band hopes everyone is able to find a small escape with these first two live videos.  Further information will be made available once a release date is set for the Better Days video (rumored release date of 9/29/2020). The band welcomes anyone within radio, podcasts, public relations, or rock/metal websites to please reach out regarding the upcoming Better Days video.

About the Apocalyptic Lovers: Reminiscent of when arena rock and music videos ruled the air waves, the Apocalyptic Lovers consists of all four original members: founding member Dave Hope, vocalist Rob Kane, lead guitarist Sean Magee, and bassist Mike Nagy. Once based out of the rust belt city of Youngstown, Ohio, the four members now populate great cities in AZ, PA, RI and VA, but this has not deterred them from writing, recording and planning world domination one fan at a time.

Some videos while we wait!

Some videos while we wait!

Phoenix, AZ – August 11, 2020 – Like many bands across the globe, the Apocalyptic Lovers have put the brakes on releasing their new album in 2020. The glass half full, the band has more new tunes to fight over when the dust settles plus videos on the way for musical relief in more ways than one.

Over the next month (beginning today) the band will release three new music videos for fans to enjoy and share. The first two videos are live versions of songs from their Michael Wagner mixed album Redemption Volume I. First out of the gate today will be Change of Frequency followed by Who the Hell Are You on September 1st.

The third release is going to be a brand new video for the opening track on Redemption Volume I, Better Days. With all that is going on in the world today, founding member and drummer Dave Hope started receiving a lot of messages regarding Better Days – a song penned by the bands lead guitarist Sean Magee.

Hope stated – “We have something very special planned for Better Days and more information will be available as we nail down a release date for it and finalize some details. The video will hands down be our best to date and we hope to also do some good with it as well. Like I said – a lot more to come on that one!

The real story for now, would be the first two live videos we pulled from our Whisky A Go Go gig in Hollywood opening for Dokken. Since almost all the concerts have either been canceled or rescheduled and most new albums put on hold, we thought it would be cool to re-share a very fun and magical night via these two videos.

We originally put the entire concert video out on Youtube, but if most people have an attention span like I do, one might get through one or two songs at best. We picked our favorite two performances from that evening and will showcase each individually. When you watch the videos, you can just see and hear the magic of an all original live rock show. We had never played the Whisky before and no one really knew who the hell we were, but you can just see how the crowd gets pulled in with each song. Its cool because it really is the music that wins them over. We are much older now and and not as pretty as we used to be (laughs out loud), so I know its not us! I always like to say, we may not have the hair, but we sure as hell still bring the metal.”

The live version of Change of Frequency from the World Famous Whisky A Go Go will launch a little later today (August, 11) followed by Who the Hell Are You (September, 1st) and Better Days sometime in mid September. Further information will be made available once a release date is set for the Better Days video.

APOCALYPTIC LOVERS 2019 and beyond!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                      Contact: David B. Hope

APOCALYPTIC LOVERS 2019 and beyond!

Phoenix, AZ – February 5, 2020 – Looking back on 2019, the band members should have very fond memories as the years pass and maybe some of their best to date.

After seeing their album Redemption Volume I (helmed by long time Dokken producer Michael Wagener) released on vinyl at the end of 2018, none of the band members had any idea what was in store for 2019 and beyond.

Beginning with the rebranding of their band logo plus dozens of radio stations from web to FM adding songs, 2019 started off with a bang. Shortly after the first of the year the band then announced tickets would be going on sale to see them make their debut at the World Famous Whisky A Go Go on April 20th, 2019.

What many may not have know was, the Whisky debut not only had them come full circle since attending Foundations Forum in 1994 – a trip that garnered them (the only unsigned band, then called Love And War) a mention in Entertainment Weekly magazine, but also had them opening on the same stage with possibly their biggest influence growing up – DOKKEN!

The Apocalyptic Lovers marketing machine took off and the band sold out of their tickets for their time slot and the entire venue also sold out as well. Even with the gig on Easter weekend, fans came from all across the country and world to see the guys open for Dokken at the Whisky. Founding member and drummer David Hope said – “Had it not been Easter weekend, we could have easily sold double the amount of tickets we did. The coolest thing was, of all the tickets we did sell, only about six or so were friends or family. The rest were fans who previously bought our album, loved us, of course loved Dokken and also had the Whisky A Go Go on their bucket list. We made so many new friends / fans playing the sold out show with Dokken, it could not have gone any better.”

On the cusp of releasing their new album, the Whisky A Go Go was also the official release party for the reissued version of Redemption Volume I. The reissued CD was exclusive to The Whisky A Go Go performance until it went on sale to the public the following weekend. It contained a bonus song, all new art, photos, and lyrics. The bonus track is a demo from their upcoming album and is a rocker called Gasoline that Hope penned for his wife.

Currently, the band is laying low and working on their next release. All we really know is the working title is Redemption Volume 2 (rumors are there is already a new title) and they plan on two record release parties. They are planning on the west coast party being held at the Whisky A Go Go in LA and then holding a second one on the east coast with the venue still to be named (rumors are they are targeting the new HammerJacks in MD).

Moving forward in 2020, the Monsters of Rock Cruise(MORC) sets sail this coming weekend and the Apocalyptic Lovers will be on the ship! Well, sort of.

A die hard rocker who travels the world to see as many rock shows and festivals as he can, met up with the guys at their Whisky A Go Go show last April. He is also setting sail on the MORC this weekend and this evidently spawned #FindRoberto. In a video posted on the bands official facebook page, Roberto is wearing his Apocalyptic Lovers black concert T from the Whisky, white pants, shades and cooly invites cruisers to come find him on board to win free music and swag from the band. Roberto also states how much he thinks cruisers will enjoy the band and he just wants to introduce them all to the band and their music.

After confirming the swag with bassist Mike Nagy, we did get some updates on the new record. If all goes well with some personal things within the band, recording should happen sometime this summer with hopes of a fall/winter release in 2020. We were told that the release date is not set in stone.

We do know that the band has spoken with some indie labels, but they have made no decisions yet. They might even put the album out on a brand new label or just release it on their own like last time. Where they record and who will mix the album is still being debated as well. In past discussions, we have overheard everyone from Michael Wagener, Max Norman, Beau Hill to Johnny Lima, Ty Sims and Josh Roman. One band member thinks they should just do it all in house, so who knows who will win that wrestling match, but my money is Sean.

Lastly, we spoke to singer Robert Kane and he mentioned the new album will have ten or eleven tracks plus one cover song. We asked if one song was an instrumental and he could not confirm that rumor. He did mention that late 2020 and early 2021 that they will soon be reaching out to book within that time frame in hopes to have a steady dose of gigs when that new album hits.

Fingers crossed and horns up!

WNJR 91.7 FM Washington – Pittsburgh adds the Apocalyptic Lovers by way of Miami.

March 06, 2018 – Time has not stood still since the albums release, but Redemption Vol I by the Apocalyptic Lovers is still picking up steam. The album was recently discovered by the WNJR Program Director and his wife by way of the Monsters of Rock Cruise this past February.

The band had been contacted about donating merchandise for door prizes at a party in Miami, Florida. The party turned out to be a gathering held for the past three years before music lovers would board their ship for the Monsters of Rock Cruise. The Cruise is very well know by fans of 80’s rock and metal due to bands like Ratt, Dokken, Tesla, and many others providing the entertainment for the duration of the cruise.

The Apocalyptic Lovers have been targeting the cruise for the past two years as a way to increase their fan base, so donating music and shirts seemed to be a perfect fit. Over 800 guests attended the Miami Cocktail Bash – The Calm Before the Storm and around 200 of them walked away with gift bags of rock and roll goodies. Only ten items of the Apocalyptic Lovers were in the bags, but those 10 items made the bands social media and website more active than ever.

All the activity made sense to the band, since their music is very much in the vein of 80s rock and metal and their album was mixed by legendary producer Michael Wagener. Mr. Wagener probably worked with close to 85% of the bands on the Monsters of Rock Cruise throughout his career and was actually on the cruise this year to speak on a panel. Between Mr. Wagener mixing their record, fans winning their music along with his and hers concert shirts, its no wonder guests on the ship flooded the bands social media and website.

WNJR Program Director Greg Uhrlen ended up coming home from his trip with the only physical CD the band sent to the cocktail party in Miami and that was the icing on the cake. (Actually he and his wife snagged the disc from their daughters gift bag!)

Greg not only is the Program Director, but he also hosts a show called The Pure Rock Shop on WNJR, where the band will make its debut this Wednesday the 7th. If you want to hear what Apocalyptic Lovers song Greg spins, make sure to tune in to the station around 4:00 PM EST. Fans of hard rock and metal will also want to check out Greg’s website for the Pure Rock Shop for even more rock and roll news and interviews.

The band would like to first thank the host of the cocktail party in Miami, Pamela D, Crockett. Pamela gave the guys a great opportunity to network within a perfect target audience regarding their fan base and it paid off.  Between the huge increase in social media and website traffic, to Greg ending up with their CD, this ended up a successful opportunity for the band.

The guys are also thrilled and thankful that Greg and his wife Kara both enjoyed the CD and are humbled to be getting air play once again on FM radio. The music business is not the same in many ways these days, but one thing that has not changed is the passion that people in all walks of life have for hard rock and heavy metal music.

Station information: 91.7 FM WNJR Washington / Pittsburgh and online at WNJR.org. On air studio phone for requests and calling 724-503-1001 ext 6239. Mobile users can use the free TuneIn app and search WNJR.
